andyboy: The change tomorrow that necessitates retuning applies only ArqB mux (which carries Yesterday, Film4, 4Music and others). If you don't receive this now, you might be able to get it afterwards.

So all other multiplexes stay as they are and therefore if you don't retune, you will still have them.

andyboy: Following Briantist's comment, I take back what I said above that you might receive it afterwards!

Briantist: Will a change of frequency but no change of power not mean that it will become available to some and perhaps be lost by others because different frequencies are affected in different ways? I'm thinking specifically of a relatively small number of people who are close to the cliff edge now, or only just over the cliff). The former could be pushed off and the latter might pulled up the cliff.

Monty: UHF 48 is Emley Moor ArqB (Yesterday, Film 4, 4Music etc).

UHF 67 isn't used by Belmont either. I guess you're getting it from Sandy Heath which is in roughly the same direction as Belmont. This carries PICK TV, Dave, Really, Challenge and others.

Does your receiver allow you to manually tune the channels in?

If it does, I would start a scan with the aerial plugged in. Then at 25% unplug it and leave it unplugged until the end.

This should pick up BBC/ITV/C4 muxes and SDN. Then manually add UHF ch53 and Ch60.

Come 23rd November you will have to retune again, but hopefully with 53 and 60 being at there full allocated power, your receiver will choose to go with them when you auto-tune.

R Tagg: Could you receive the digital TV before switchover this August?

I would certainly try removing and/or reducing the amplification of the booster (if it's an indoor one).

You have the BBC mux to work with. If you remove the booster, see if you can pick up the BBC and see what strength it says it is. If you can, try tuning in the other muxes.

Chris: Can you get the following: BBC1, ITV1, ITV3 and Pick TV?

For the ones you can get, what is the signal strength?

mrs cooper: You mention that BBC Wales comes up. This suggests that your TV/box has tuned to another transmitter rather than Winter Hill, which would explain the break-up.

Roger Andrews: C63 was used by Tacolneston for BBC prior to switchover. This suggests that your boxes have "remembered" this.

Have you carried out the procedure outlined at the top of this page? (Running a scan without the aerial connected)

Jon: If you follow the link to "Digital UK tradeview" by your name it will take you to the Digital UK predictor.

West Runton is predicted as being quite good where you are. Note that it is only since 9th November that it has been broadcasting digital (BBC only) which might explain why you've never had this issue with BBC channels. On 23rd the rest of its analogue will be switched off and replaced by ITV/C4/C5/HD on digital.

If the problem you are having affects only BBC channels, then perhaps it could be because it's tuned to West Runton which is at 2kW.

If you believe this to be the case, the simplest and most generic solution I can advise is to start the autotune scan with the aerial unplugged and plug it in when it gets to 25%. This should have it disconnected when it scans West Runton's frequency.
