(1) It may be the booster that is causing Freeview not to work post DSO. A decent aerial installer should be able to remove it and advise you if this is the case.
You should also check with Digital UK's postcode checker just to see what transmitters you should be receiving:

(2) Freesat does not work with splitters. You need to change the LNB to a multi feed LNB (Check to see what type of LNB is on the dish). These come in various forms i.e. dual (two feeds) Quad (four feeds) and octo (eight feeds) enabling a variaty of Freesat receiver/PVR (recorder) combinations. You need at least a dual LNB to run one Freesat PVR. An octo LNB can accommodate 4 PVRs or 8 receivers, or any combination in between e.g. 1 PVR and 6 receivers, 2 PVR's and 4 receivers etc.

P.S The booster is probably a distribution amplifier.
Have you checked that the TVs are actually capable of receiving Freeview ?
Just because it's a flatscreen TV doesn't mean it can receive digital TV.
It may simply be a case of buying a few Freeview boxes.

Rob: You will still receive the free to air HD channels that are currently available on Freesat i.e. BBC1 HD, ITV1 HD, Channel 4 HD etc.
You will not be able to use the Sky+ HD box as a PVR unless you pay Sky a £10/month subscription.
If you need the PVR facilities a Freesat box might be a better choice.

She might be better goung for Freesat if she can't get Divis post DSO Jack.
As Dave says, have a look around and see where all the other antennas are pointing. The ones that are vertically polarised will be Carnmoney Hill. Those with horizontal polarisation will be Divis.
You may well find some very large aerials on older houses pointing towrds Divis, with newer developments using Carnmoney Hill (Catnmoney Hill only came on air in the 1980s)
Incidentally, if she has an aerial pointing towards Carnmoney Hill, it might be a good idea to keep this as the site will carry the new RTE mini multiplex post DSO i.e. RTE1, RTE2, and TG4 (along with a possible fourth TV channel and radio station).
RTE isn't vailable on Freesat.

Details of the new RTE mini Mux have been apparently announced yeasterday.
Black Mountain at 2/1kw, Brougher at 1KW, and Carbmoney Hill at 16w.
So, no Divis then, but at least Black Mountain is at a higher power.
