...the "correct" ITV and BBC region.

We live in Hunstanton (North West Norfolk) the digital signal is proposed to come from Belmont (Yorkshire). Our "correct" BBC region would be Angllia not Yorkshire. Can we do anything? Its so frustrating we NEVER venture into Lincolnshire or Yorkshire its too far and Yorkshire's regional coverage has little interest here. Is this a human rights issue?

Hunstanton

We live in Hunstanton PE36 5DP near Sandringham. We have been told that on or about November 23 the Sandringham transmitter will go digital and be stepped up and should enable us to get Anglia. Is this true?

steve: Since Waltham went digital we get the same here in North West Norfolk. It was always annoying to get Belmont's Yorkshire but our Panasonic tv with built in freeview autotunes and has decided Waltham East Midlands is now the stronger clearer signal!
At least that's better than Yorkshire for us but still not ideal. We really want Look East from tacolneston.

A local Tv man says it has happened because Waltham and Belmont are only at fracationally different angles from us. I imagine you are experiencing a similar problem. For regional tv I begin to think Freesat is the answer as I beleive you can tell it a postcode and it will give the appropriate regional progs. I dont now if Briantist agrees???

We have a HD Free-view TV on the wall in the bedroom. We live in North West Norfolk and have to have Yorkshire;we would like to change to Freesat and have installed a 4 lnb dish. Is there a small freesat adaptor or box available. We have not got room for a big "Sky" sized box and "the management" is not keeen on too many wires hanging down the wall.

On BBC Breakfast Currys PC World and Carphone warehouse announced a merger. They will be know as Currys -Carphone (what about PC world?)Their CEO says the justification is mainly because we all want "connected" appliances via mobiles. How far are we really from "Beam me up Scotty!"

The process of transferring items from one financial account to another is called virement. Recent "Privatisations" take this to a new level and actually parts with the assets, the family silver so to speak , without the possibility of recovery in the future. 'Sale-and-leaseback,' allows use of an asset when the vendor leases it back for the long-term; therefore.Such transactions usually involve fixed assets like real estate,or other durable and capital assets; trains, boats and planes.and trains. Leaseback arrangements are usually bring financing, accounting or taxation benefits. Where an entity is sold contract it can be passed from third party to third party, unless restrictions are built into the sale.

Surely the BBC may have created short term cash flow but hasn't it given up desirable controls for little long term gain and more probably loss? Is this creeping ultimate total privatisation that would not meet public approval?

Others may say it signifies surrender to other existing corporate media entities that already have their own capitalisation difficulties caused by an incessant bidding war for "rights" in sport and other such fields!

Can the BBC maintain its quality of output and supposed independence?

In my many years in commerce and industry I have seen cyclic centralise decentralise efforts. In this case I see no way back. The Politicians and BBC are surely "playing Ducks and Drakes" squandering resources for little but "Policy".
