This Week has been very bad for Freeview TV reception..... due to change of weather condition's... It did affect Hannington, Oxford also London via Crystal Palace. Best thing to do is to ride it out and DON'T adjust anything to your TV and aerial. In old days of co channel interferance there used to be a BBC and ITV transmitter announcements saying due to weather conditions please do not adjust your tv set. Shame we don't see or hear of this anymore.

I remember many years ago.. that Digital TV will not be affected to poor weather and no interference..... wish this were true.. but science and theory does not apply to terrestrial transmissions and receiving.

This also applies to SKY / freesat mini dishes... when it rains lose the signal.... the mini dish might look pretty and neat.. but no good in heavy rains... i have recently installed a standard 80cm dish OK it might be bigger but very reliable satellite signal in any weather.... best to use solid dish and polish it with car wax polish every 6 months then any water hit the dish just rolls off.... it works for me.. hope this tip helps.

I like to ask... Will a 4 G filter from my aerial to my freeview box cancel out any interferance to anaolouge TV out put that sits between channel 60 to 69?

i only ask as i get very stong interferance thats sits on channel 63,64,65,66,67... if i get a filter that cancels out channel 60 to 69 will this work?

many thanks

Rob: Mike I have been using satellite television since 1989.... so i DO know what improves the reception of satlitte TV also the lower noise LNB I.E 0.2dB helps... the SKY mini dish is really an gimmick for sky and i had alots of problems with them due to heavy rains in the past..... the mini dish is far too small.....

so don't tell me that i am talking rubbish!

One thing i like to say.....When me mum was alive... this is back in the 1970's when we upgraded our tv from 405 line black and white to colour in 1977.... i saw a letter with TV licencing i asked why we need this... I was told we must have a licence to own and watch tv same as dog licence etc... fair enough... But now i realized it is soley for BBC and Channel 4 which is part owned by BBC.... correct me if i am wrong..

I thought the Idea of an TV licence was to own and view TV programmes regardless in Colour or Black and white.. yes there are people out there still use black and white via freeview box... but it must be a freeview reciever ONLY.. if you have PVR hooked up to a black and white set you MUST pay full colour licence ..... it was the same in the 80's with VHS video recorder as they record colour signal.... crazy or what.... BUT my gripe is I am deaf been deaf since birth..... WHY is NOT all freeview channels are NOT all Subtitled? makes me feel why should I pay the full fee as i cannot hear sound at all totally dependent on subtitles. If the blind people can pay less tv licence as they cannot see the images... what about the deaf who wants to watch other freeview channels IE True entertainment, CBS movies for men..... they do NOT carry subtitles..... Quest only carry some subtitles not all.... things need to change to make ACCESS to TV for ALL......... but i shall bear the pain of paying the FULL licence. rant over....

I have to say .. Formula 1 racing has become SKY only while BBC shows highlights... i am disappointed that BBC didn't make more effort to keep it on BBC.... there are people who will not subscribe to SKY. Sky has become very expensive way to view television. Since i got rid of Virgin Cable TV due to losing my job and gone completely free view / free sat. And happy to pay TV licence. All i want is the government to play fair make television more accessible i say only 35% of the free-view channels carry subtitles. to me that's not good enough by this day and age we are still way behind like countries USA, Australia and other countries have better access to television for deaf, disabled, blind etc..... UK is very poor in that department... IF they expect all of us to pay full licence then make ALL free view channels subtitled and Audio Description for the blind.. also sign language.. it upsets me that broadcasters tend to put signed programmers in the graveyard shift.... shows very little understanding from broadcasters. Fair access for everyone thats all i am asking

it be an TV Poll Tax... meaning everyone will have to pay even they don't own a tv set..... also if a house of 4 adults mean tv tax is paid 4 times........ it is not a fair way of collecting tv licence.....

I agree with Mike B Bush,Goodmans and the newer boxes made by Vestel are very clear and kept very basic english and plenty of screen shots and if people sat down and take time to read the user guide then there be less problems. all user guides do have a quick start set up guide using one sheet of double sided paper.... 5 mins to read it that all it takes.... job done

Excuse me LongTime...... you really haven't got any idea how deaf, disabled, blind people have to fight to get proper access to TV... how dare you to tell me to move out of UK... I was speaking for all people like me it is not JUST about me...... I think your very ignorant person..... don't pick on people like me!!! I bet you never met an deaf, disabled or blind person!
