Rob: I have noticed one thing.... if you have a cheap and cheerful STB box on normal tv... the subtitles on there are not very reailable ie bush, alba boxes they need to b e reset nearly all the time.... I think its time we can find out which STB and PVR are more realiable than others and why?

NICK ADSL UK:

Hi Nick your right there. my panasonic tv shows signal quality 100% signal strength 60%. other channels show 80% also i reduced my booster amp unit to 10db it was 26db.. which was too much for my tv. by reducing it has made it more stable and reliable. No more break ups. Happy days :-)

Hi I had few problems with the re tune on weds. I been caught out with re tune or new channels... its best to do a factory reset or first time install or default setting... as i have older set boxes to take the aerial out and blank scan the box then plug it in.. after all this hassle i got all working in order now,,,, took me most of the day sorting my tv's and my elderly neighbors sets out too.....what fun!! not!! lol

Well I know you pay for good quality and safely installed propeller and it will last a long time.... £180 to £300 is not unreasonable these aerial guys are on tight margins at it is... so give them a break Tony

I had a mate had his aerial installed by a cowboy used a scaffold as a mast one day a heavy winds knocked it down and ripped his chimney off too... left a gaping hole in his roof.

Alot of arieal riggers i know have a proper ID card and a website and offten members of the areial trade.... sadly some cowboys do give us bad names... thats life..... i rather pay more for a professional to do the job well done.

Mike Wiltshire: If you have upgraded your tv aerial for a high gain one and is the aerial pointing to the correct transmitter and check all aerial connections from your booster block and try changing the connections ie swap a tv point to another..... if that shows that tv once a good pic now bad could be dodgy booster. if that dont make any difference double check the tv aerial plugs make sure the braided copper is not touching the hard copper should have at least 1cm clearance between the two. hope this helps.... also try another tv on the bad tv points see what happens........

good luck

Anthony Hayhurst: yes it can be done but one problem is the sky remote will end up controlling 2 boxes at the same time... unless you have one sky plus box and a standard sky box... that will work well but if you have 2 sky plus or 2 standard boxes it be controlled by one remote meaning both boxes change channels same time....

hope this helps
