There seems to be a problem with Sandy heath, caused I suspect, by a duplication of channels on MUX ch 27 & 67.
It seems OK to start with, but a few hours later, BBC1 etc VANISH!
The cure seems to pull the aerial plug out, so the re-scan misses ch67 - if your box does not tell you which channel it is scanning, there will be a percentage bar, over 75% will be the point to "pull out"
This may not be a problem with some boxes, but it certainly was with an old PVR Goodmans GHDD1782

So the Brains have put 3 of the better channels: Yesterday, ITV4 & Film4 on C67, the weakest most useless MUX from Sandy heath - now that is what a call BRAINLESS! - It would have been far better to put them where the HD channels are (& delayed HD opening) - until the final frequency line up is on the air!

Sandy heath channel 67 mux (Yesterday, film4 etc) has vanished completly here in Brandon - it was there most of the time a few days ago - anyone else lost it? All the rest, inc HD no problem at all.

Once stage 2 switchover has taken place on Tacholneston, will ALL MUXs be on full power 100KW from the new higher mast? Or will there be further messing about, as with Sandy heath (I live on the fringe of both TXs)
Thanks Bob

Dave, Tacolneston does not do it's final switch until 23rd Nov - I'm not sure if Sudbury's pathetically lower power commercial Mux's go up then though? On the same day, Sandy heath finally ends the use of C67 & moves PICK & all down to C51 I think. not sure if that will then be at full power then. Aquiva's policy seems to be just so long as the BBC, ITV, C4 & 5 signals get out, the rest get Pot-luck!

Correction, Aquiva A currently on C67, moves to C52 (not 51) on Wed 23rd Nov.

Hi Brian, are you going to update the TX changes at Sandy? & are C48 & 52 on full power yet, if not, any idea when?

I live on the extreme eastern edge of Sandy's coverage (Breckland) but since the recent changes, I am getting perfect reception of ALL Muxes, with very little signal/quality difference between them - that is on the communal Ant. On a separate WB ant, aimed at Tacolneston (with a masthead pre-amp) - again all very good, even getting most of Sandy from the back. I'm wondering if folks having reception problems, are using very old ant's & equipment?

JB38- just a little way up the Bury Rd, Brandon, just to the south of the high street - IP27 - aerials in Brandon point both east & west, it also depends if you have trees VERY near to you - but I suspect most of Brandon is now getting good signals from both Sandy & Tac, the new map on the site does need some tweaking I would think! Of course at both TX masts, there is an increase in height - that must be helping. This location used to be useless when sandy was on C67.

Hi KMJ - so C48 & C52 are now on 170KW, I guess the official details must be out of date, as they are still listed as 20KW.
