Freeview reception at PH1 4AL

For reliable and stable Freeview reception, you need an unobstructed path between the TV aerial on your roof and the digital TV transmitter. The map below shows the transmitters predicted to provide a signal at this location.

You can click on any transmitter symbol to show the coverage area as a green overlay on the map. Double click on a transmitter symbol to go to the transmitter information page.

You can also view the ten closest potential '4G-at-800' mobile phone masts within 1.5km of the selected location - these masts may be used for 4G-at-800 mobile broadband services from 2013-2015.

Martin: The answer is moving!, although this action is not necessarily guaranteed to resolve the problem if you happen to reside at ground floor level.

Another aspect to take into consideration is whether or not the trains you refer to are of the electric powered variety fed by an overhead line conductor, because if they are?, then your problem could possibly be caused by interference from sparking between the trains pantograph and the 25Kv overhead power line, although should this apply, then fitting a high pass filter in line with the aerial input socket "might" help the problem.

Lesley Horner:

Check with your neighbours in the block to see if they have the same problem. If they do, then report it to the owners of the flats or their managing agents - they are responsible for maintenance and repairing any such defects.

If they are not, then check your own equipment and connections but do *not* retune.

Hi, I have entered my FULL postcode (in the box above the word 'predict'), more than THREE TIMES. I get NO ANSWER OR PREDICTION AT ALL, since after selecting 'predict', the page refreshes back to having an empty postcode box, as if I had not entered my postcode. My postcode is a BA1 postcode (just off the london rd, bath - near 'snowhill' area - which is well within the 'bright green area', as is the street I live in, and is shown on the map area that is supposedly receiving signals from BOTH the DAB transmitter and the 'digital tv transmitter (or 'repeater' if that is what it is), located in 'golf course lane, bath, somerset'. Has your 'predict' feature failed recently, since it does not predict anything when I try to use it, or are cookies or something else REQUIRED, for this feature to work at all. I see no such pop-up about 'cookies being required or even being used by your website, which I thought was a legal requirement on YOUR part, to tell users of your site to give them a choice of using your site WITH cookies, or NOT using your site at all!

Peter Borrett:

Neither Tredegar nor Abergaveny offer a full Freeview service. There is a slim possibility that you may be able to get signals from Mendip but that is by no means certain and may suffer from serious disturbances due to the distance and intervening water.

If you look at the digitaluk box below your post, or look at Coverage Checker - Detailed View which is what you would be shown, you are quite some distance from Mendip, so signals could well be weak and unreliable.

AFAIK there are not yet any plans to offer a full service on either Tredegar or Abergaveny transmitters.

Tufftybob:

Did you put a full postcode in or just the first part as shown in your post? It needs a full post code before any further information can be given - the first part of a post code often covers a huge area!

fozzy: Winter Hill is presently listed on the planned engineering notice board warning of a possible weak signal, this being the most likely reason for your problem.
