NasS:

Please provide the signal strength readings for all channels and check that you are tuned correctly to the required transmitter (use the Digital UJ Coverage Checker to ensure you are using the best transmitter for your location and what channels it uses). Also recheck all the aerial cables and connections.

I've recently bought a new TV. After the channel scan I get Meridian East weather forecasts rather than Meridian West. I live near Wallingford. I get strong signals across the board from the Oxford transmitter. My old TV had Meridian West & I haven't changed the antenna.

Any clues as to get Meridian West

Dave: Are you watching ITV SD (LCN 3) or ITV HD (LCN 103)? There is only one HD version of ITV Meridian.

@StevensOnln1

I'm watching LCN103 on Freeview.
Does Hannington transmit Meridian West in HD? I can get some signal from Hannington off the back of the antenna.
BBC local news also doesn't transmit in HD on Freeview.

Dave: There is only a single version of ITV Meridian HD on Freeview, satellite and cable. No other versions exist in HD currently on any platform. You would have to switch to ITV SD on LCN 3 to get the correct local news.

Works correctly for me!

We contributors know that the site owner has other commitments and there is a need for further updating of several details. If you require details of transmitters and the channels used, please go to the Digital UK Coverage Checker - that's one of the sources we use.

I am a Stroke Survivor getting totally fed up with my digital service which is costing me nearly 100 per month for a service which is nothing but a rehash of programmes that has been on television before & virtually do nothing for me but to allow me to view the 5 documentary channels that actually are of interest to me I have to pay through the nose for all of the dross before I can get to the channels that actually interest me. I would dearly love to get on 'Freeview' (which would cost me nothing) but am finding it v. difficult due to the mental disabilities that my Stroke has left me with I would pay if necessary to have 'Freeserve' set up for me if whoever is doing the job could guarantee success but it would appear that nobody is interested in taking on the task.

Richard Thorndycroft: If you're paying 100 per month then I'm guessing that you've subscribed to either Sky or Virgin cable. If you have Sky, cancelling your subscription will still leave you with all of the free channels available through your Sky box (although you won't be able to record them or play back any previous recordings).
