Hi, please can you help, in early April the bbc channels went missing, as 4g was installed and channels was moved around, since April, I have not been able to pick up bbc3 bbc4 and the news channels these are transmitted on channel 50, I have retuned several times, still can not pick up these channels also I have tried a booster aerial nothing seems to work, I even tried a booster aerial still didn''t work, I have contacted at800 and they said I shouldn''t have any disruption problems, thanks I contacted digital uk they replied with instructions which I have tried and it still the channels are missing can you help
It is a digital recorder, I have reset my recorder to shipping condition it still is the same. I have also disconnected the aerial and retuned with it out, when I put the aerial back in. It is still the same.

tracy: Looking on Streetview the buildings appear to have a single communal aerial on the roof. Or are you using your own aerial?

If it's a communal aerial then it may require adjustment to allow through C50 and C49 (COM5: Pick TV etc). If so then I am amazed that three months down the line no one in the block has been bothered to notify the party responsible (e.g. landlord) to get it fixed!

Thunderstorm today in Kidderminster. Since then no freeview signal. Aerial is fixed on Sutton Coldfield. Is there a problem at that transmitter?

Why can I not receive RTE programmes?
I have BT+ vision box.
I had to re-tune my Vision+ box to receive the new BT system, now I con not receive any TRE tv programmes.
I checked with BT vision & they suggest the problem might be with the Divis tower.

William T G Gordon: I don't know why you were told that. Divis does not transmit the northern Ireland minimus.

The service comes from black mountain. Northern Ireland "mini multiplex" (NIMM) | Digital switchover | ukfree.tv - 11 years of independent, free digital TV advice

William T G Gordon: There are a number of possibilities so there is not a straightforward answer.

Divis is the main Freeview transmitter which serves you. The "NI Mux" (aka NIMM) which carries RT One, RT Two and TG4 broadcasts from Black Mountain. Because they are close together a single aerial will usually work for both.

To receive the NI Mux a Freeview HD receiver will be required, even though the pictures are standard definition.

If you have a second aerial which you used to use to pick up RT and other channels from the South the feed for which is combined with the Divis one then this may preclude reception of the NI Mux.

The reason is that the NI Mux is on UHF channel (frequency) 39. The combining unit (the diplexer) will "split" at a particular channel, meaning that the Divis aerial is used for all channels below the split and the other aerial (perhaps Clermont Carn) will be used for all channels above it.

So Divis uses channels ranging from 21 to 29. Clermont Carn uses channel 52. Diplexers often split at 36 or 38, this meaning that the aerial not facing Divis will be used for C39.

If you have a good enough digital (Saorview) signal from Clermont Carn then a Freeview receiver should be able to be used to view it. The services will probably be placed in the 800s.

To do this a Freeview HD receiver will definitely work. Some Freeview standard definition receivers will work, but many others will pick up the signal but give no picture.

Doncaster

Hi all. I'm looking for some help. I've lost all the COM 6 channels. I live in Doncaster so I assume I'm getting reception from the Emley Moor transmitter.

I've no added any devices to the TV/freeview box, i.e. nothing has changed etc. Rescanned a few times with no benefit and all other channels, on all other multiplexs are fine. This issue is recent - only in the last 2 weeks or so (or even less). Sometimes the channels do appear but with such bad receptions/loss of video unwatchable, other times no video/no audio at all.

I'm at a loss - unless work either being done on the multiplex on this transmitter or perhaps they have changed the frequency of this multiplex and my ariel no longer get a good reception. Checked ariel and connections and all good btw. Have been receiving COM 6 perefectrly well for the last 2 or 3 years so what is going on?

Any help or thoughts much appreciated.

Thanks Paul

Paul Tatler: Try swapping aerial leads. Dodgy connections could potentially affect one channel/frequency whilst apparently leaving others unscathed.

COM6 is on UHF channel 48, so use a TV or box with a manual tune function. Once on the manual tune screen select or enter 48 but do not press the button to scan/add services, rather wait and see if it gives any indication as to strength and quality.
