On my Hauppauge TV software there is an option in the Advanced Options sub-menu to "Empty Channel Base". Try doing that and then a full retune. It brought all my EPG data back for me.

Hello , We are at Sunnymead Ave - ME72EB -
and have been losing i.e -on and off - freeview since 4-6 monthe ago (now its gone completly)
We cannot quite understand the maps etc above
but does it mean we have lost freeview because of
this mobile phone masts business ?
Is this to be permanently the case now ?
Thanks for any feedback

Hi Jamie and Mike,
Many thanks for your helpful comments. Jamie, its not the software thats old, just the operator me!
While I was searching (unsuccessfully) for the Hauppauge TV software in the Advanced Options sub-menu to "Empty Channel Base" mentioned by Mike, I stumbled upon the reason the clock was mis-timed! Re-set the clock and all is OK again. Mike where is that folder? <martinsnow1943@hotmail.com>
Thanks again guys! Martin

With regards to 4g interference, this would only be an issue if you are in direct line of sight of a transmitter or use an amplifier on the system.
Given that you have been getting issues for the past 6 months you system or equipment is probably to blame.
If you aerial has degraded too much or cabling is too old this could also cause problems.
systems do not last forever.
More information will be need on the type of system you currently have, location of aerial, type of aerial, age of aerial and cables, etc
regards

On my system I go to Start and then chose All Programs. Then I look for the Hauppauge WinTV listing and put my mouse cursor over that. Another short menu list will appear to the right and the first item will be Advanced Options with a little 'arrow' pointing to the right. Move the cursor across to that entry and another sub-menu list will appear. The first item is Empty Channel Base. Placing my cursor over than and click the left mouse button instigates the function.
I'm using WinTV 7 with the latest updates. If you are using anything different then the menu sequence may differ. It's worth making sure you have the latest version of the software from Hauppauge (http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/site/support/index.html) as there have been several updates issued to help resolve problems caused by the transmitter changes recently.

We are struggling wuth this highly complex in fo on bere.We are simple folk, we understand a bit about electroniks etc but cannot hack this site.Theres a moden tendacy to opt for complexity and our view is, its gonna go or has gone wrong. We bought a technica tv 32inch full hd with ordinary freev built in.We soon found alarming inconsistences re the channels sig strengths. some are 75%, others are zero but, though they are zero theres still a picture! We had no idea that channels are piggy backed on frequencies, why should we??Any way weve found following channels are zero - 22/25. The channels 22 show a qual/sig strength of 9/0 but the channel 25 shows 89/0 (baffling). Weve tried bigger antenna with about 22 elements but no luck. Our postcode is PO15 6RR. Springles lane hants uk.We already wrote that we are surrounded by huge oaks. But our next door neighbours seem to manage ok to get IOW trans ok.The ant is in loft and at mo theres no hope of outside position. The transmttr is only 27 miles away and we are on elevated ground with open access to IOW re height Before the trees grew the IOW could be seen .Theres few buildings round here as semi rural. What amazed us is when we accessed this site and tried to get the site details for this postcode with a blue line showing our acceess line no such page could be raised..Also when we checked the power avail from the transmttr for us we find all the boxes only have an indicator band halfway across the box.!!. We also find the antenna type details/recommendations confusing as the indication is that suit antenna types appear to conflict and if we look on ebay theres no such antennas advertised and ebay is largest shop on the planet. This site, like so many, particularly anything to do with electroniks seems to be written by people who want to display their own grasp of the subject rather than align it with people who want to learn but dont have natural bent.We found that re electronics there was only one set books we understood and they were written for US serices during WW2.We wasted hundreds pounds on dozens books and worst of all blamed ourselves for being dumb.We reckon from what weve seen of teachers in schools the same thing is happening to children. So now what do we do.go back to analogue. We never had this or any other problem then. And a not final comment- millions pounds been spent on all this technology and we switch the tv on and lo and behold there people with distorted face expressions firing machine guns/cars exploding in balls flame/peiople being stabbed/attractive women arguing with men/ and the words killing, death, blackmail, violence repeated about a hundred times a week. We wont mention the politics. What a nitemare. And, by the way, no we cant afford a little ma with a multimeter to come round becase fior a start weve been conned by a builder and also have life threat illness and not forgetting weve had the police round here making violent threats cos the info we have about this/that.All we want at mo is our new week old tv to work ok surely thats a reasonabkle ambition. Nearly forgot- when we accessed the page which advises on antenna types we found it was out of date and some channels are not even mentioned,we also found that the ant recommendation coloured bars were vaguely colourded. What a nitemare.

Erica bihari: lets start with the basics - your aerial should pointing 203 degrees from north (looking south and then a little to the right) and looking at Rowridge transmitter. Trees can be a real problem, and someone else can offer more detailed advice on that.
OK, the aerial is in the loft, which is less than perfect, but your only 24km from the transmitter. If you have a booster, amp. etc, disconnect your TV and aerial from it if possible, so you just the aerial and TV togeather. What is the signal strength on RF channel 24 (Rowridge)? If its low, then signal is too weak, or you have a problem with the aerial (loose connection?). If its near 100%, it far too strong, and should be nearer 75%.
My personal advice is to get a professional to have a look - they will know what they are doing (something you admit you do not), and will get it sorted out for you, if possible.

I have been experiencing poor reception during the summer especially in the evenings. The aerial (labgear CAI standard 3) and cable are only 6 months old. mounted on a pole on the roof. The signal strength is only 50%.
Can you recommend a aerial to increase the signal strength.
