postcode cv37 7jp indoor aerial

Bought tv for bedroom yesterday and set up using indoor aerial. Only picks up BBC channels (tv & radio), signals break up if someone moves around the room! Main tv with roof top aerial freeview reception is perfect though. Am assuming problem is indoor aerial, admittedly is cheap £10 aerial with no amplifier. Would better indoor aerial give better reception?

john powell: The main station Sudbury @ 15 miles / 249 degrees H polarisation is indicated as being able to provide good reception, although to be perfectly honest about it same room aerials are never really satisfactory unless the transmitter is within sight, although even then you can still experience problems caused by movement within the room.

That said, same room aerials can however perform better than expected if mounted in the loft using a coax extension lead.

Pat: Larke Stoke @ 191 degrees / 7.5 miles is indicated as being your best bet for reception and with Sutton Coldfield your second choice, it located at 348 degrees / 29 miles, although to be perfectly honest about it same room aerials are never really satisfactory unless the transmitter is within sight, although even then you can still experience problems caused by movement within the room.

Rowrigde RE: C53 C54
Since we had the strong winds moving across the Tower Block all tenants have lost the digital signal to their TV and have no picture or sound.
We have reset our free view box but only can obtain HD channels BBC 1, BBC 2, ITV 1 and channel 4. All other free view channels are no longer available and states NO SIGNAL!
Is there anybody that could advise on who I can contact for help, there are a lot of elderly and children living in this large Tower block of 104 flats.

Pat: Connect whoever carries out the servicing on your block - there must be a management company you pay services charges to, etc. They will have to deal with it, presumably by getting out professionals to repair the aerial connection.

Hi there

I have a bush dvb80 HD Freeview using the sutton colfield transmitter. I have good signal strength across all channels but for some reason it says 'service not available on the HD channels only.' Sometimes i just get sound on the hd channels and a blue screen. Every other SD channel works. The HD channels work when using a scart lead rather than HDMI. I have tried the box using a different HDMI, aerial and TV. Still no luck.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dave Lindsay: I have tried manual tuning already and does not work. Could it be some HDCP problem as i get sound but with a blue screen?

jb38 and MikeB thanks for your advice. MikeB we live in own house not block so have to sort out ourselves. jb38 in we theory should have strong reception as one transmitter is under 10 miles away, so have ordered a Telecam indoor aerial as a last try. At the moment the BBC channels appear very clearly though signal drops and this is with a short range indoor aerial. If Telecam aerial fails then will look into loft aerial or splitting signal from roof top aerial.
