Map of all FM, MW and LW transmitters

You can click on a transmitter group symbol to see all the masts in that county or area, or click on a single transmitter to see the coverage area. Due to the large number of radio transmitters, many have been grouped into counties or administrative areas for ease of viewing.

We are picking up Heart FM on 105.2Mhz in and around LD1 6AT in the car. Signal quite good in places. I'm assuming it's from Carmel. Would an outdoor aerial improve things at home. We used to get UHF from Carmel many years ago, before the local mast did colour etc.!!

Don Wheeler: It's definitely 105.2 which I believe is Carmel. With an external Dab aerial quite high, I'm already getting signals from Carmel, so I'm tempted to try a VHF one! Used to pick up Swansea Sound from Kilvey Hill many moons ago too!

Mike Thomas: In most cases an outdoor aerial will vastly improve reception of FM signals. There is however the possibility of interference on 105.2 from Sutton Coldfield which could muddy the waters! The coverage area maps tend to be rather conservative, so it is not unusual for good reception to be possible tens of miles beyond the boundaries shown, nearby hills permitting.

At my house (NN10) I can get a signal of Capital FM on 105.4FM; however, it is rather patchy on the radios in the house (with wire aerials). Outside, at ground floor, its receivable, but not perfect. Would an external FM aerial improve things so that it would be receivable? (If only they moved London's Magic onto another frequency, all would be well)

spotify95: an omnidirectional fm aerial properly installed high up should help pull it in an get you a plethora of stations from all transmitters too.

Over the last week our am reception on analogue radios has deteriorated and now we get nothing for radio 5 live and talk sport. FM and digital reception is fine. Is there anything going on ? Many thanks
