This transmitter has no current reported problems
The BBC and Digital UK report there are no faults or engineering work on the Mendip (Somerset, England) transmitter.UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. Click on the buttons in the right-hand corner of the map to choose from different frequencies (or multiplexes for DAB).

I've noticed reduced power on all DAB broadcasts from Mendip for the past four weeks. Anyone else noticed this?

Peter Andrew: Hi, Peter. Smooth & Heart are transmitted on the Somerset local multiplex at 1200 watts, whereas BBC Radio 2 on the BBC National multiplex is transmitted at 5000 watts. Magic ought to be as strong as BBC R2 because the D1 multiplex is also at 5000 watts. Richard, Norwich.

Hi Brian, I'm not getting any DAB coverage map here for Mendip atm. Also if Pro mode is enabled the DAB coverage maps don't seem to be displayed elsewhere!

Same report - the background map appears, centred on Pen Hill, but there are no coloured overlays in either standard or Pro mode. And no buttons.

Hi Alan. I'm afraid most of the DAB/FM pages that I've been on in recent times (IIRC) are like that. I don't know if it's a bug in the software or if it's been disabled because of issues with the coverage maps, and transmitter locations on the map aren't always correct. Whichever, the site owner doesn't seem to have the time to fix it all!
