Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Mendlesham (Suffolk, England) mast?
DAB: Off the air due to a fault from 24 Nov 13:34 until 24 Nov 13:42. Slightly reduced power due to essential engineering from 20 Nov 11:15 until 20 Nov 12:42. .
UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. Click on the buttons in the right-hand corner of the map to choose from different frequencies (or multiplexes for DAB).

On waking this morning I find that on all the DAB radios in my house there is break-up of the signal where there was none before. Is this due in any way to the changes that have occurred recently with Freeview TV? I am at IP33 2PE

This morning in Purton near Swindon DAB radio signal which was fine yesterday (3rd September) is now breaking up to the point that it's unuseable. TV signal keeps "popping" too!
What's changed and is the change permanent!?

John Lloyd: Mendlesham doesn't have Norwich DAB on it. Stoke HC is the main Tx and is less directional than it once was.

Mary Macer: Hi, Mary. The Mendlesham, Puttocks Hill and Manningtree DAB transmitters have no problems on them today, so if you are experiencing any issues, it's probably atmospheric in nature, like the issues we have had with Freeview tv since Sunday night. It will all be ok again in a few days. Richard, Norwich.

JC: Hi, John. This is Richard in Norwich. For your information, Mendlesham has recently had the Norwich local multiplex added to it, so it does now have Norwich DAB on it, which helps listeners in the Waveney valley between Bungay and Harleston who were not receiving it very well from Stoke Holy Cross just South of Norwich.Richard, Norwich.

FAO:Briantist:The Suffolk Local DAB multiplex is now full up and running on Block 10 C from Mendlesham, Puttocks Hill (for Bury St Eds) and Warren Heath (for Ips.)transmitters. Perhaps you'd like to update the transmitter coverage maps, etc. when you get a 'free moment'? Richard in Norwich.
