Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Mormond Hill (Aberdeenshire, Scotland) mast?
UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. Click on the buttons in the right-hand corner of the map to choose from different frequencies (or multiplexes for DAB).

The past week we have had very bad reception from Mormond Hill and are wondering what the cause may be?

I can't find any faults or transmitter engineering listed at the moment, but something is ringing a bell with this area, what I'm not sure!
Are you using a portable set or connecting to an external aerial? If the latter, check the aerial looks intact and the downlead looks secure.

Steve:
The BBC have in fact reported a fault at Mormond Hill -
DAB: Off the air due to a fault from 22 Aug 11:26 until 22 Aug 15:48. .
There are also two other possibilities ongoing.
There's been some Freeview transmitter engineering at some of the nearby Relay transmitters and this could also be affecting DAB signals to some others.
Current weather conditions - This can affect DAB and Freeview.
Tropospheric Ducting - causing interference from more distant transmitters in Europe or the UK. This can be very variable and is usually short term at any instant but conditions have been persisting for several days, different parts of the UK are being affected at different time. Both Freeview and the BBC have issued warnings about short term interference to reception.
