This transmitter has no current reported problems

The BBC and Digital UK report there are no faults or engineering work on the Taunton DAB (Somerset, England) transmitter.

UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. Click on the buttons in the right-hand corner of the map to choose from different frequencies (or multiplexes for DAB).

Julia moss:

You shouldn't post your number on an open forum, it could lead to abuse.
This is the DAB radio page, but no worry, but we don't know which TV transmitter you are receiving, there could be planned engineering going on. If you happened to have tried retuning whilst it was/is off-air it will have cleared all tuning and you'll need to repeat a retune when it's back on air.

If it's Mendip you are receiving, it is on air.

Why does my radio keep finding the Welsh transmitter when Im in Bridgwater, how do I find stations transmitted from Taunton? Is there a list of what stations are on what transmitter somewhere?

Terry Stanford: If you carry out a full scan on most DAB radios, it will search for all available multiplexes from every available transmitter then give you a complete list of available stations, rather than just stopping at the first multiplex found. If your radio has a manual tuning function, scanning VHF Block 10B 211.648 MHz will give you the Somerset local mux if it is available at your location. If you're using an older DAB radio you may need to carry out a "rest of world" scan as Block 10B is outside the frequency range originally used for DAB in the UK.

Terry Stanford:

StevensOnln1 has explained how to find the Somerset mux in case you have an older set or aren't doing a full scan. The Somerset mux has transmitters at Taunton, Mendip, Coker Hill, Egford Hill & Hutton so unless your radio is badly located eg. if there are thick walls in the line of sight to the transmitter, or next to large metal objects like fridges/freezers that may screen signals, you should be able to get it. The stations on the mux are BBC Somerset, Capital UK, Heart Somerset & Smooth Somerset all transmitting in Joint Stereo.

You will get some Welsh transmitters because the signals will easily travel across the Severn Estuary. You'll probably get the SE Wales mux on Block 12C: 227.360 MHz and maybe Swansea SW Wales Block 12A: 223.936 MHz.
You shouldn't have any problem with the National multiplexes - the BBC on Block 12B: 225.648 MHz whether it be from Taunton, Stockland Hill, Mendip or Wenvoe, etc; the Digital One (D1) mux on Block 11D: 222.064MHz; the Sound Digital (SDL) mux on Block 11A: 216.928 MHz

Chris:

I'm afraid I can't find any reported faults, but I suspect in the current climate they may get delayed or not even appear! Has reception returned ok, or is there still a problem?
