Mike Dimmick: "Before this, the BBC only had 'North'" which is why there are three BBC regional news programmes called "Look North": One from Leeds (Yorkshire), one from Newcastle (North East and Cumbria), and one from Hull (Yorks and Lincs) and "North West Tonight" was originally called "Look North" and "Look North West".

Re:Keith Portress. The TV channels you described 11,19,82,are all on ArqA frequency 53 along with ArqB on frequency 60,are both transmitting at present on 4kw due to 2 of Tacolneston's Mux's,A and 2 currently broadcasting on frq's 53 & 60 respectively there, hence both Belmont (now fully digital) and Tacolneston (due for digital switchover in November 2011) frequencies clashing on 53 & 60.After Wednesday 23 November 2011 when Tacolneston becomes all-digital,2 of their current frequencies which i mentioned 53 & 60 will be reallocated to frequencies 42 (Mux A becoming SDN) and 59 (Mux 2 becoming D3+4) there ending the frequencies clash as such, thus enabling the 2 currently under strength Belmont Mux's,ArqA (ch 53) and ArqB (ch60) to increase its power to 100kw,by then.

Ron Cullen: The only two multiplexes on low power at Belmont is Com5/ArqA (Mux Ch53) and Com6/ArqB (Mux Ch60), and will be until the 23rd of November when the power will be increased once these channels are cleared from Tacolneston, this station also using these channels and which Belmont could possibly interfere with if it wasn't on low power.

It should be said though that the main PSB multiplexes will always be much more powerful than the commercial ones even after November.

Is there a problem with the Belmont Transmitter ? I ask because even before digital change over and up to Today we have received all of the channels without any problems. This morning all of the channels COM5 ArqA and COM6 ArqB have disappeared and retuning has not helped.
According to this site there is not supposed to be any alterations to these signals until November.

Hi Briantist,
Allthough i live in Hull, I have to use Emley moor, instead of Belmont. This is due to problems caused by a wind turbine.
Since DSO I am very pleased with reception.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your exellent sugestions and links.
many thanks Brian.
best regards
Peter Everett
