Josh :
How old is your dish? Most will last more than 10 years and good ones probably longer. Before I moved I'd had one in place for over 22 years!.

i have recently purchased a panasonic 48cx350b t.v....in the morning its impossible to get channels 37, 38 and most of the freeview hd channels (except bbc), if i turn on the pvr and watch through that then the channels are all there....i watch through the belmont transmitter and normally have a perfect picture...is the transmitter power reduced in the morning?..is the freeview reciever in the tv not as good as the pvr one?...any other ideas please...

Alan Hudnott: Although Belmont is indeed presently listed in the planned engineering section warning of a possible weak signal, the fact of you being able to view the missing channels via the PVR is inclined to indicate that the signal is being further reduced by the method used to connect the aerial into the TV, as variations in sensitivity between tuners does not generally have such a dramatic effect as you are experiencing.
If the TV's aerial input is fed via being looped through the PVR? try connecting the aerial directly into the TV, if this action rectifies the problem then make sure that the PVR is not set on "economy" mode, as this setting in most PVR's disables the aerial loop though facility in standby.
If of course the TV and PVR's aerial sockets are fed separately via a two way splitter? then that said obviously does not apply.
