When did the Burnham-on-Crouch transmitter begin to send it's Freeview TV signal? As it's only 14.8 Km from my home, which is situated on one of the highest points in Rayleigh, Essex. I currently have a boosted Freeview aerial on my roof connected to our main TV, pointing to Crystal Palace (50.4 Km), and another aerial suspended in my loft pointing to Sudbury (48.2 Km), which gives the option of Anglia news & sport on one of our bedroom TVs. Thanks for any help.

Dick Maddock: At switchover. However, it isn't likely to serve you.
Another new transmitter at switchover was Rouncefall which broadcasts PSBs as Single Frequency Networks with Sudbury, meaning that the signals are on the same channels and complement one another (you get the sum of both). As Rouncefall doesn't carry all channels (no COMs) you may find Crystal Palace better for them if Sudbury's COMs aren't good. You could combine the feed from both aerials using a diplexer so as to have all channels and London and Anglia regions available on all TVs (you will need a distribution amplifier).
