Karl Stanley: Is there a "region" or "network" preference setting which might need turning on? (I'm not familiar with the model.).

Cleator

Hi,
Thank you for helpful website.

I live at Cleator Cumbria CA23 3DT.
I have no knowledge of Freesat etc.
I presently use Sky TV & Broadband at £41 per month.

Can I cancel Sky TV and use their dish.
Will the dish serve more than one TV. (Sky is only supplied to one of our TVs at this time)
The other TVs are supplied by a aerial within the roof space.

Regards
Richard

Richard: Hi Richard.

It's not Sky's dish, it's yours. You can do with it as you please.

Just stop paying them and you can watch all the channels listed here All free TV channels | ukfree.tv - 12 years of independent, free digital TV advice .

David: I suspect the question you should be asking is "what time does my central heating go off at in the morning?".

This type of interference problem will be local to you because the transmitter output is constant.

I have the Humax Freeview PVR, with Aa Skyplus PVR in another room. The humax has clear reception on all SD channels, but all DH channels are very blotchy with occasional hoizontal black lines about 2 cms apart. Sky is fine on all channels.
I have reset and refreshed all options on the Humax menu to no avail. I have disabled all other boxes that have a sat connection, but still the interference continues.
The Caldbeck transmitter reception quality is identical, accross all used frequencies.
Can anyone help please???

keith hetherington: Is your aerial connected directly into the Humax ?or it is being fed via the Sky boxes RF1input / RF2 output then into the Humax? because if it is your Sky boxes RF modulator might be set to the same (or near to) channel as used by Caldbecks HD transmitter.

A post code, or one from nearby, would assist in being able to check on the signal strength expected in your area from the Caldbeck transmitter.

keith hetherington : In addition to that said, on having reread your posting I noticed you having stated that the signal "quality is the same across all used frequencies, does this include Mux C30 BBC HD England or alternatively Mux C22 HD Scotland.

The reason for asking being, that the quality being indicated whilst on the HD channels would be expected to be extremely erratic judging by what you have reported, and although not as yet having knowledge of your location, but should your signal strength be a tad on the high side then this can cause problems with HD reception, excessive signal strength always affecting HD before SD, sometimes the latter appearing to be perfectly OK.
