Thank you very much for your prompt reply. Your reply confirms my fears.
I originally had a Yagi but a local 'aerial contractor' replaced it with the current Vision 32 High Gain when I called them in to try to improve my signal.
Perhaps I need to try another type of aerial or invest in a chain saw. Unfortunately the chain saw is not really a serious option as I would be in trouble with the local authority as the trees have preservation orders on them!

60snatch: What is the model of the TV so we may check to see if it has a HD tuner in-built?

"Full HD" simply means that it can show the highest resolution of HD pictures which is 1080p and gives no qualification to the ability to receive HD signals off the air.

60 snatch: Specifications say that it only has a DVB-T terrestrial tuner:

TX-L37V10 -Specification -Panasonic UK & Ireland

DVB-T is the mode of standard definition broadcasts and DVB-T2 is that of high-definition ones.

Can you receive high-definition services via the in-built Freesat tuner instead?

Yes no problem with freesat but prefer dvb layout, bought unit to include freesat because eventually will probably lose dvb because of trees. Many thanks, am annoyed to learn tuner is u/s for hd. one last point please confirm chatton is transmitting hd stations

60snatch: Yes, it started yesterday.

If you have Sky then you must have a dish. If there is no spare feed from the dish, then you should be able to run another. If there are no spare ports on your LNB, then you should be able to pick one up for around £10 online. Obivously you will also need a length of double-screened coax cable, e.g. WF100.

With the very limited programs on Rothbury relay, decided to try Chatton. I can receive PSB1, 2 and COM4. Why can I not get COM5 or 6. I live at Holystone and realise we are at the edge of the transmission area. Would a better aerial help? The aerial is on the roof.

Hi never posted before & not terribly up on TV channels etc. We live in Lesbury (3 miles east of Alnwick & 1 mile from Alnmouth on the coast). We bought freeview plus recorder about 3 years and had always enjoyed about 125 channels inc.radio etc. Since the NE digital switch this Autumn our signal for some channels has lessened - in particular the band that receives ITV 3 which I particularly enjoy. We have repeatedly retuned & find retuning giving us only 46 or 79 channels (inc. radio) depending on day and weather. ITV3 has never re-appeared satisfactorily - occasionally it will say it's there - but when wwe try and view the picture freezs and breaks up & then goes. Can anyone help us regain the COM4/SDN/C41 line that will give us ITV3 again. thank you, Gill.

Gill Lyons: The power of the transmitter for the SDN mux was increased slightly at switchover, but changes to the technical parameters could have resulted in a net decrease of effective coverage. If you have a manual tune facility select C41, then without scanning/storing channels note the signal strength and quality indicated. Does that differ significantly to that indicated for say C44?
