Colin brown:

There are no reported problems that I can find at Craigkelly and it's not currently listed for Planned Engineering.
(Note - the channels listing at the top of the page is out of date as the site owner hasn't found time to do all the updates since 700MHz Clearance. COM6 is on C37, not 38.)

If you are correctly tuned, Other than that, check that your aerial seems intact and pointing in the correct direction with the rods (or squashed Xs) horizontal and that your downlead looks undamaged and isn't flapping in the wind.
Also check all you coax plugs, connections, flyleads etc, unplug connectors check for corrosion or other problems and reconnect them, especially if you've changed anything about in your installation recently. Flyleads can be a common problem, try swapping them.
Aerial misalignments, problematic connections, water ingress etc. can seem to affect reception of just AN individual or several multiplexes.

I receive TV transmission from Craigkelly post code EH30 9QF. Last week I believe the 30th June22 I stopped receiving a signal for BBC News HD Ch107 and now the channel listing for ch107 has gone from my programming guide on my BT TV MyView box. Reading some blogs there is a TV channel switch off because its low power on Com7 is being removed to allow mobile mast to operate band 5. Why is Craigkelly no longer transmitting BBC News HD on CH107 in Com7 but all the other Com7 channels e.g. BBC Scotland HD Ch108 ok? Is there anything I can do to get the BBC Nnews HD signal back?

Rab Harris:
Short answer regarding BBC News HD - No. The areas that were served by COM7 on Ch.55 have
all lost BBC NewsHD, and also BBC4 HD and Cbeebies HD but plans seem to be afoot to bring them
back. I haven't seen any plans for BBC News HD to return as a terrestrial channel. It is still on satellite.

BBC Scotland HD is on the original DVB-T2 multiplex, BBC B(See list above).

Rab Harris:

Did you not see the pop-up messages on all the channels that were on COM7 explaining what was happening to them?
BBC News HD would only be available on iPlayer or Satellite after 30th June.

COM7 and previously COM8 were only ever temporary HD multiplexes to stimulated public interest in HD. The BBCB HD/PSB3 is the only other HD multiplex at this time.

As a result of improved compression techniques with new encoders, more space has been created on PSB3 to accommodate BBC4 HD and Cbeebies (they time share, as do CBBC & BBC3 HD). The new encoders are part and parcel of enabling regional news on BBC1 HD and more local regionalisation on ITV HD.

Hello,

I performed a complete TV reset yesterday. Nearest Tx is Craigkelly, Fife.

Manually tunned the TV for only channels from Craigkelly. Com 5 is missing. eg. no Ideal World on freeview channel 51.

Kind regards,
Graham Webster

Graham Webster: Did you mean COM5 on UHF channel 31? There are no Freeview multiplexes above channel 48 since the completion of the 700MHz clearance and closure of COM7.

Graham Webster:

I think there's been some confusion here, no doubt not helped by the channel listing at the top of the page having an error as well as the "change over time" section not being updated as the site owner has not had time to do all he changes since the 700MHz Clearance and COM7 closure.

Ideal World LCN51 is carried on COM6/ArqB and is on UHF C37 at Craigkelly.
See Channel listings for Industry Professionals | Freeview for which channels are carried on which multiplex.

In the multiplex order BBCA/PSB1, D3&4/PSB2, BBCB HD/PSB3, SDN/COM4, ArqA/COM5, ArqB/COM6, Local
The UHF channels you should be tuned to are C27, C24, C21, C29, C31, C37 & C32.

Depending on your Location, you may/may not receive the Local multiplex.

Just to add to the complexity, Craigkelly is currently listed for Planned Engineering with "Pixelation or flickering on some or all channels".
There is also some "Tropospheric ducting" affecting reception in different parts of the country at differing times, this can result in interference from distant transmitters in Europe or the UK although this is mainly affecting the south of the country at present.
