David: Pre-switchover, signal levels here from the Hannington were up & down like a fiddlers elbow for months - and now even the unnaffected Muxes are stable. Pre-switchover it was always denied that engineering work was having any effect on digital signals. I suspect ANY site work slightly affected signals in marginal reception areas, taking them below threshold. I suspect much the same for Crystal Palace.
Whether this is true or not; I would hold off enquiries until after the switchover process is completed - because even if you get any relevant answers; they can only refer to a situation which is about to change - or by the time you get them, will have already changed!
I am fairly sure most of the problems people have now will disappear with substantially increased transmitter power.

I live in a comumnal block and can only see a few (very few) of the freeview channel even though I've brought a Freeview HD TV.
I can't even see BBC1, BBC2, ITV, C4 etc - can see them if I use analogue but not DTV. Strange?

Terri: Even although Crystal Palace is still operating on pre-switchover power levels, but with you being located at only 8 miles away from it you "might" be suffering from signal overload problems, albeit I do have my doubts about this, but to test if this possibility can be eliminated as well as getting an idea of the signal level you are receiving, should you have a set top aerial lying around (or have access to one) plug that in followed by carrying out a re-scan and see if that action results in anything more being received, if not though further suggestions can be taken from there.

Since Wednesday 29th Feb 2012 I have had problems with reception at various times of day. All digital channnels bar those in Mux C have suffered extensive or complete picture and sound breakdown for varying periods. My Freeview box shows a general reception strength of about 60% level, but quality of reception varies from 40% for really bad recpetion on most channels to 100% for those in Mux C. I am picking up London in RG4 7LU postcode. Have done all the usual retuning to no avail. Rooftop aerial is OK. Any ideas please?
