John McCallum : If you provide a full postcode we can check to see whether you might be able to receive more channels from another transmitter. The alternative is to look at getting Freesat, which gives you most of the same channels via free to air satellite (i.e. no subscription required).

John McCallum :
It's worth noting that quite a few modern TVs have a built-in satellite tuner, so all you need is a dish and LNB (even an old Sky one, as long as it isn't SkyQ which is not compatible).

I have just changed my aerial to a Labgear LAB450T and am unable to pick up the channels on the com7 multiplex from the Darvel transmitter. My postcode is KA55AT. All other channels have great signal strength and quality. Is com7 broadcast on Ch 55 from Darvel or Ch 31 as I
'm unsure from the information I can gather from this website? I am picking up 5 channels on Ch 31Freq 554000kHz but none of them are from com7 multiplex. According to the site Darvel does not broadcast on Ch 31

Ian Davidson: COM7 is broadcast as a single frequency network (SFN) on UHF channel 55 from 25 transmitters (including Darvel) however it is predicted to be weaker at your postcode than the main multiplexes. UHF channel 31 is the local multiplex from Darvel which carries That's Scotland and a handful of other channels, which is predicted to have a stronger signal than COM7 at your postcode so it makes sense that you are receiving the local mux without difficulty.
COM7 is due to close when it's multiplex licence expires on 30th June 2022 so I wouldn't suggest spending too much time, effort or money trying to receive something which will be gone within 3 months.

Thank you for the timely reply. Will the channels I cannot receive at the moment be moved to another multiplex e.g.BBC News HD after com7 closes?

Ian Davidson:
There's been no announcements about what will happen to any of the channels currently on COM7. Most of us are expecting a lot of them will just close. There is very very limited space on other multiplexes for SD channels and the carriage fees will be higher, some broadcasters will not bother. There MAY be space on BBCB HD/PSB3 but whether the BBC will choose to put one of their COM7 HD channels there remains to be seen.
