Since the gales we, in the Stornoway area, can only see BBC1 and BBC 2....and the other progs transmitted on that freq. The other progs. e.g. STV, Channel 5, ITVBe are not showing on the screen. THey say signal issue. I did reset my TV and now have only about only 20 channels listed up to channel number 120. In the list of priorities, TV is one of the last, but thought I should contact you in case you were not aware of the issue.

Tina Davey: Your aerial has just had a battering from potentially 130mph winds. The transmitter apparently has no current problems, but your system probably has, perhaps a loose connection, etc.

After posting a query on Facebook asking if anyone had the same issue, I did a bit digging around and came across this page. My issue, and many others on the island, is the same as Tina's. I only have 11 channels after following the reset procedure.
Can you clarify what you mean by a loose connection and how we go about getting this flagged as an issue that needs resolution please? Thanks.

Jacqueline Macmillan: Well, if there are others, and this isn't a shared (communal) aerial system, then logically the fault is likely to lie with the transmitter.

Please can you note that in the district of Point, Isle of Lewis there is only channel 1 & 2 available after re-setting the tv. Could this be due to the hurricane that hit the island at 113mph and when will engineers be able to review the situation and give update please. Thanks

Dave Lindsay: I'm aware of that thanks, which is why I posted the comment as I was not sure whether the loose connection referred to an individual's setup, or the wider network. My point still stands - if there is an issue, how do we go about getting it flagged as such? Thanks.

Jacqueline MacMilkan: I doubt there is anything to flag/report this is a main transmitter and will therefore be remotely monitored.

Jacqueline: Only BBC and HD channels available over in Bernera so you are are not alone. All was well yesterday so I suspect the storm is the culprit. We have line of site to the transmitter and the signal strength is usually 100%. This is the case here at the moment for BBC channels with all others at zero.
