I have contacted Samsung and they tell me they are aware of my problem and in conjunction with the broadcaster are working on a solution which will be ready soon.

David: Thanks for the update, the content of having somewhat confirmed my suspicion that the range of problems you have reported might possibly be connected with a software problem, the reason for me having enquired the brand of Freeview device you were using.

john: Hi,this seems to be widespread problem i thought disappeared with vhf tv but possibly has come
back to haunt us.It seems, possibly signal inversion has happened,in all such cases, renew all cable, plugs, etc then try inverting the aerial, try ground level. What happens is the signal field gets twisted
by the local terain and is no longer vertical or horizontal but is moving between the two states, hence
some channels will disappear and reappear at random, nearby high buildings, etc

I've had no Freeview nor Freesat reception since Saturday night. I've reset and retuned both of my set top boxes on numerous occasions resulting in now only having 12 Internet channels on my (BT) Freeview box. Some neighbours, on other streets, also have no reception, so I therefore concluded that it is probably a 'transmitter' problem. Please advise.

Ed Henderson:
Engineering work has been going on at Emley Moor simnce at least last Thursday, with it being noted that there are likeluy to be some service interruptions. The works being noted above your posting.
By retuning you have lost several of the signals that were available, you would have been better off waiting until the engineering works have been completed.
That is still the case and you should only retune once that work has finished. Check back here to determine if the work has finished, indicated by the engineering works notice not being posted afresh again.
