Peter: As Pontop Pike (@ 10 miles) is indicated as being the station that covers your particular area, try carrying out a "manual" tune on Ch33 (570.00Mhz) / COM7 and see if this brings any results.
By the way, hesitate after entering Ch33 into the manual tune box rather than immediately pressing search or scan, because if the COM7 signal is being received the strength / quality of will appear in the level indicator bars, pressing search or scan in most equipment blanking the levels out.
Another point to note being, that COM7 radiates at a somewhat lower power (33Kw) than the other COM channels on 50Kw, although this might not be a significant factor where you are located, and which would appear to be line-of-sight with the transmitter.
That said is on the assumption that you are able to view HD programmes from the main HD mux on Ch49.
