Charlene: Try a manual scan on Ch68, as indications are that you should be receiving a good signal, let me know how you get on as I can then give further info depending on the result.
Make sure that your aerial is mounted vertically and not horizontally, and it should be pointing fractionally to the right hand side of due North.

Charlene: If it helps, the aerial should be pointing towards Keighley railway station, that is unless you can actually see it on the hill beyond.

jb38, thanks for the help, ive done the scan on ch68 as suggested, comes up with a signal but when I search that frequency, i dont think the signal is strong enough to pick them up

Charlene: That's a bit unfortunate! as the transmitter is only 3 miles away, but as you say the signal is likely to be just under the level sufficient to resolve a picture.
Your situation obviously limits what you can do, the only possible thing that you could try for the time being is something that I wouldn't normally recommend, that being, if you can manage to borrow a behind the set powered booster to try in line with the aerial, as that "might" lift the signal up enough to obtain a picture.
I made a further prediction check, and indications are that you should be capable of receiving 100% signal across channels 48-68-66-30-34-53, but of course it depends on your loft aerial sighting, i.e: being vertically mounted, not near (or facing into) a water tank, or likewise facing into the end of an adjoining property, the latter possibly not applying in your case though!
Another thing is, that if you are using some other device with your TV etc, that the aerial should go directly into your TV (or Freeview box) and not be looped through anything else, as that can also reduce a signal level.

How come now we are being told we might not get all F reeview channels after turn off when before we were told if we get the channels on freeview now, we would get them after turn off?
