Martin: The problem referred to is likely to be related to the wave of high pressure which is currently sweeping across the whole of Ireland, this also affecting Western coastal areas of Scotland as well as the Southern same of England.

As far as Northern Ireland (only) is concerned, the high pressure zone is forecast (AK: William Hepburn) as not clearing the area until late Sunday evening, returning for a brief spell late on Wednesday (27th) / Thursday (28th) before clearing away again later that day.

Hi
I have set the box up with an INDOOR aerial (vertical) in Ballymena, perfect installation of channels and RTE and KEEP IT COUNTRY channel. I then set it up at home in Coleraine Co. Londonderry and information on the epg for saorview channels was missing and out of sequence, also it showed a lot of unknown channels. This was on a rooftop aerial in horizontal fix.Can you solve this problem for me?Joe Deehan
Many thanks

joe deehan: You are most likely receiving a different transmitter at each location and will therefore need to carry out a full retune when moving the TV as each transmitter broadcasts on different frequencies.

I note that from 2019 channels 42 and 45 will be used from this transmitter. Saorview from the Moville transmitter currently uses channels 42 and 45. Does anyone know what new channels the Saorview services will move to?

RONAN:

Please don't shout! All capitals is regarded as shouting.

There are no reported problems at the Limavady transmitter. You should investigate your aerial system as that may have a faulty/poor connection. Also check with your neighbours to see if they have the sam problem with Freeview.

If, by retuning, you have picked up a different transmitter then look at the top of this page for the channel numbers used at Limavady and manually retune to those only - do not do an auto-tune as that will possibly lose your channels again. (You should never do a general retune if a few channels are lost.)

Hi,
This question relates to reception mostly noticed on the Sony Movie Channel. Living in Derry, I receive my Freeview signal from Limavady. Tne signal breaks up to the extent of being unwatchable.
Thank you.
John.

John O'Flaherty:

The predicted reception at your location is shown as being good and reliable. It is therefore likely that you have an aerial feed problem. That is not i=uncommon and is known to cause loss of or disruptions oif just one channel. So please check all your aerial cables and connections, where there are coaxial plug/sockets unplug then and then refit (that is to clear any possible corrosion/oxidation on the contacts) and then check that you are correctly tuned to the Limavady signals, go to Coverage Checker - Detailed View and scroll down to the Limavady listing and use the current channels listed there. It will also tell you what the future changes may be and roughly when.
