Over the last few weeks we have had high blocking interference on ITV coming from the Mendip transmitter.
My location is BS22 9EF, the signal quality is all over the place, and the bit error is totally erratic. Very poor during early morning, but reduces up early evnning. BBC channels ok. Any idea's

Alan:
You should get pretty well perfect reception at your location. There's Planned Engineering at Mendip this week with "Possible weak signal" which might affect you, and in recent times there's been some tropospheric propagation which could cause interference from other transmitters using the same UHF channels but that should have subsided by now.
I assume that you have had a Group T/Wideband aerial since the retune event back in the summer. You should check in your TV tuning menus that you are tuned to the correct UHF channel (34) for the D3&4 multiplex from Mendip. You may have inadvertently auto-tuned to transmissions on 24 from the Hutton relay or on 23 from the Stockland Hill transmitter.
To check all the correct UHF channels, put you postcode into About us | Freeview

My apologies for not replying to you sooner. Email updates aren't immediate, they are daily, weekly etc depending on what you selected. Tropospheric propagation in recent times causing interference from other transmitters will not have helped you but that should have now subsided. There's still Transmitter Engineering at Mendip this week with "Possible weak signal".

I assume you've got your signal back now? Did you not see the Transmitter Engineering post(s) immediately prior to yours and on the previous page. Also two of mine on the 24th pointing out that - There's still Transmitter Engineering at Mendip this week with "Possible weak signal".
