Thanks again. FYI, I've never been able to get any HD channels here on Freeview. To get Freeview at all I need a (Wolsey 4 Way TV Signal) Amplifier. Thanks for the tip on manual tuning. From memory ( I wish I kept better records!) the aerial filter was needed because we lost BBC channels last time. I had a new aerial put in because I thought the old one had been damaged in bad weather before we realised it was a filter we needed. Duh. We do occasionally get broken reception on the Beeb when there's high pressure weather, but not recently.
