hi briantist thanks, still no joy. aerial bearing is pontop and i receive freeview c62 multiplex which i presume rules out fenham and confirms pontop.the aerial appears to be wideband and it seems odd the c63 signal strength is zero as even if i could not view the hd channels i would get at least a weak signal. i tried on a tv which has never had any other inputs so analogue interference doesnt seem to be the answer.i should maybe rule out a box error.otherwise i assume ill have to wait for the digitalnks again switch. tha

andrew morrison: I would still check Single frequency interference | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice - there must be some reason why you are seeing nothing at all.

The HD multiplex is at the same power level as all the other transmissions.

Having read a bit more about RF interference i reckon you are spot on Briantist.there must be something in the area either conncted to my tv or a wireless network for a device that is stoping the signal.ill try systematically turning off devices and see.cheers

I live opposite (in a dip) to a just completed new-build school - as the build progressed the ITV programmes became worse. Pupils moved in two weeks ago and since then you either get no signal or broken picture with none or very little sound. Is this just a coincidence or is this the reason for the problem, I lie in TS21 area and the aerial is positioned to pontop pike.

Will I have to fork out more money for another aerial?

Pauline Tweddell: According to the Digital UK postcode checker Mux2 is shown as having variable reception at your location and it is expected that reception will deteriorate on Mux1 and Mux2 in september 2011. Are you able to use Bilsdale? Also Emley Moor is shown after switchover in September as offering a full service. (No use at present though) Regarding pupils in the school affecting the signal, if the school is situated in the signal path so the signal travels between the sections of the framework it is possible that people moving about could cause variations to the signal.

Used to have 4/5 signal on CH55 from Pontop Pike (MUX2 -- ITV1, Ch.4, etc.). Barely working today. Maybe my aerial has been twisted by the strongs winds earlier this week.

Steven, Guisborough: It is possible, but there is engineering work too (see above). Please see Single frequency interference | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .
