The weather! There have been no changes at the Rowridge transmitter for several weeks now.
Put your full post code into the Digital UK Coverage Checker at Digital UK - Coverage checker That will tell you what che=annels are in use from Rowridge and give an indication of the expected reception conditions.
Bear in mind also that the current hot weather is causing a lot of reception problems and there is no cure, so please DO NOT RETUNE.

Hi - I am located in BN16, 1sj for the last few months (before heatwave) I have been unable to get bbc4 hd and BBC news hd on my bt box its ok on Freeview TV. I can see online that changes to the crystal palace transmitter has affected other users, have any changes been made to this transmitter that could have caused this issue?

There were changes made to the Rowridge transmitter a few months ago. You now need a wideband aerial to be able to receive all the available channels. Put your post code into the Digital UK Coverage Checker at Digital UK - Coverage checker to see what chanels are now being used.

I am no expert, but I believe that Rowridge COM8 is now Channel 56, not 37 as listed.

To check, please put your post code into the Digital UK Coverage checker and scroll down to the transmitter listing section. That will show which channels are being used for the available multiplexes.
We contributors are aware that the details given on these pages for the many transmitters is now out-of-date, but the site owner has not yet updated them for a few months now. Only he can perform the uopdate needed.

Hi,
My post code is PO9 2FX and we and many friends have lost several channels on the new 55 & 56. Freeview are being evasive. They admit to lots of complaints. We moved into a new house 2 years ago and I paid to have a wide band log periodic fitted. I have checked all my cables are short and low loss coax. I have tried a 16dB gain amplifier. Using the power monitor on my Panasonic TV I have found good signal strength up to 28 I get 10, to 37 I get 6 and nothing on 55 or 56 without the amplifier. With the amplifier I get a small signal on 55 and even smaller on 56 but no signal quality on either. Looking at the quoted power transmission there is considerably less power on 55 & 56 and I believe this is the cause of the problem. I have contacted the antenna supplier who confirmed he has had lots of complaints and he agrees it is power. He also said that he believes the power is reduced because 55 & 56 are in the Midhurst transmitted frequencies and the power was reduced to avoid interference with Midhurst. How many people are being conned to but a new aerial ?

Percy H: Like you, I've had problems with C55 and C56 this year in Hampshire, although DigitalUK predicts 'Good reception' for my location. I've complained to BBC, Freeview and Ofcom but, as you say, their replies are evasive. They probably look at relative audience figures, so C21 (BBC One HD, ITV HD, etc) is broadcast at 200kW from Rowridge, while C55 and C56 are at 25kW and 20kW respectively, ignoring the fact that it is pointless producing high quality documentaries, wildlife programmes and dramas on BBC4 if they are not broadcast properly in HD. I know several people frustrated by this thoughtless behaviour, but others watch via satellite or streaming services, or are unconcerned. So I installed a log36 antenna and now get 50% signal strength from 55 and 56 on a Humax box, but zero on a two-year old Samsung TV which is puzzling.

i have just had a new wide band aerial fitted and cannot get channels 55 and 56 from Rowbridge.
As mentioned wrong channels listed
i have also seen that these MUX are due to be switched off 2020/22
i'm in the PO20 area East Wittering with a pretty direct unobstructed line across to IOW
the aerial was replaced and suggested to be put in the loft, as there was a really strong signal and that would avoid future maintenance due to wind and salt deterioration. the existing aerial on the roof failed with metal fatigue
anyone else having issues on COM7 & 8 from rowbridge?

Paul Cohen: Check if you are on the same transmitter - Sony tuners are normally pretty sensitive but a bit more robust than Humax ones, they tend to withstand higher transmitter outputs before breaking up.

Percy H: I too could view BBC4 HD on my Humax, but not on my fairly new Sony Bravia TV, despite the fact that the Humax feeds the TV via a coax. I assume the Humax requires less signal than the TV to operate.
