Northampton
I live in central northampton NN1 1PB, I have no channels in categories A or C at all.
When I rescan I am only given the option for Cambridgeshire & Bedfordshire, is this the closest transmitter?
Beige the changeover I received all of these channels but since rescanning in June I have never received them.
Is this due to engineering works or is there something more I can do?
I have freeview built in to tv and live in fairly new bloc of flats so assume aerials and such will be a high standard.

jb38: thank you for all your help, i got one of those one for all signal splitter/ amplified 10x gain which takes up to 4 tv at a car boot this morning for £1.50 ( selling in PC World for £29.99 ) so i thought id give it a try, and it works !!!! i retuned my freeview box did an automatic search instead of a manual and ive got perfect tv now, even all the station i could only get before when it rained are now there, and at a bargain price !!! i would never have thought of getting one of these if you hadnt suggested it, so anyone else out there having problems look for one of these, its called one for all signal splitter sv9542 . thanks again Suzy

Suzy: Really pleased to hear that you have had an element of success with your "bargain" purchase as signal boosters do serve a purpose if used correctly, and indeed in lots of situations is the only way of keeping a signal above the cut off point, this known as the reception threshold.
That said though, should any erratic element creep into your reception again and possibly because of the tree situation or even atmospheric conditions, something which has been affecting various areas, please!! try to refrain from being tempted to try altering anything and especially as far as retuning is concerned, as all you will do is upset everything you have achieved.
Anyway thanks again for your update, as its nice to know the outcome of a persons problem.

jb38: i have to do a retune on the 19th :( as it has been saying on Really that some stations are changing on the 19th to different Numbers !!! so will let you know the outcome of that when it happens, but its been great to have all my stations back again, really, pick tv , Yesterday etc etc, no freezing or breaking up and weather has been sunny and rain and the picture on the tv hasnt change infact its a lot clearer than it was before , got a lovely picture ! let hope after the retune it all stays the same, wish i didnt have to do it, but if i dont i wont be getting those channels x

Suzy: Yes, sorry I forgot all about that event, maybe you could give an update on your findings after you have carried out the "dreaded" retune as I would be most interested know the outcome and which hopefully is favourable! or on the other hand maybe not as the case may be, and should be any remote chance it be the latter then carry out another retune about an hour or so later. Various things are happening then, but to my knowledge the main EPG channel moves are as below / Dave (from 19 to 12) Yesterday (from 12 to 19) Really (from 20 to 17) Gold (from 17 to 20) Food Network (from 49 to 48) Jewellery Channel (from 60 to 49)

Suzy: I am unaware as to whether or not you have managed as yet to carry out a second rescan, but just purely for your info the other programmes that are also on the "same" transmitter as Yesterday (19) are Film4 (15) / ITV4 (24) / Ideal World (22) and Argos TV (55).

Mick I think the only way is to do a 'factory reset' and then a Manual tune of the 6 channels you need on Sandy Heath. The channels for that transmitter are 27, 24, 21+(HD), 51, 52, 48. If your equipment does not handle HD then you can leave out Ch21+.
I've had this nightmare with the retune this week too and Manual tuning is the only way round it. Hope that helps, Mike.

Hi - I live in Buckingham and have had poor signal/no signal on a number of primary channels over the last few days. Doing an auto-retune has not helped. BBC1 and BBC2 are disrupted again this afternoon (of Monday the 24th September). Coverseley ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 are fine. Any advice please? Many thanks!
