I'm on the Midhurst transmitter but see that Steyning has one that is just down the road from me (my postcode BN44 3YW). Is there any reason why I could not receice digital TV from there?

My areal is on teh roof.

Barry: Looking at the Digital UK postcode checker predictions you could receive a signal from Steyning after DSO if using a suitable aerial (it is currently analogue only). However there would not really be any point, as not only is the predicted reception at your location not as good as that from Midhurst, it is also only planned to transmit the three PSB muxes (Freeview Light).Notice Heathfield is also predicted to give good reception on all six muxes after DSO in June 2012.

Living Steyning I receive a very strong signal from the local transmitter but is there any possibility that the Steyning transmitter will transmit such stations as Deja and Yesterday in the future?

Thanks

John Tarry: Unfortunately not. The other services are run on a purely commercial basis and the operators have decided to transmit from 80 or so sites and achieve a 90% coverage of the population.

See here for an explanation:

Will there ever be more services on the Freeview Light transmitters? | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice

Judging by the Digital UK predictor, you appear to have a "good" chance of receiving the services from Crystal Palace.
