Peter Dennis: Yes, it certainly was an error, and one which was even made by / www.terrestrialtv.uk. / as they also had BBC4HD (106) listed as moving to COM8, this having now been corrected to COM7.

WV16 6QH We have an aerial on the roof coming in to a booster box which serves 4 TVs in the house. All were working last night. This morning all 4 TVs have no signal. The Sky TV in lounge is fine but that is on separate system.
We have a signal checker which shows aerial is sending signal to the booster box. The cables into each TV have a signal going through. All have been unplugged and tested.
We have retuned one TV and that has found nothing so no programmes are being transmitted to us.
having checked TVs, cables and aerial we can only assume that there is a transmitter problem.
Can you look into this for us please.

Mrs Malloy, there are no problems with TV Transmitters at the moment,it is likely that your booster box has become faulty.
This does not always mean that the box is not powered up,the fault lies in the power supply to the box which affects the quality of the digital TV signal.
My name is Chris Burroughs,a local TV Aerial installer and if you wish, you can contact me on 07988539200.Tele-Satt Aerials ltd.

Fiona Malloy:

You may have inadvertently turned off a switch on a socket feeding mains power to the aerial amplifier/splitter. Check first that there is power on the amplifier/splitter, a little light usually shows it is powered up. You may have the amplifier/splitter in the loft? Take care when checking.

Robert Dale:

A strength of 100% is far too strong, especially for HD transmissions. You need to try adding an attenuator into the aerial cable at the wall socket to reduce the signal so around 75-85%. Attenuators are cheap and available in different degrees of attenuation. I suggest you start with a 6 dB one first and see if that affects the strength enough to reduce it to the 75-85% level. If not try other 'sizes' until the signals appear to return.

Hi

I have had problems with my freeview tele's on DVB channel since Monday 24th October. The signal was fine on Sunday 23rd October. Although I can view the stations they are pixcellating and the sound is breaking up. All the tele's are connected to a digital signal aerial via a powered signal booster. I have checked the latter and it it powered up. Has the signal been affected at the transmitter?
