The installer added the booster a couple of years ago whn he installed a new aerial. At the time the set which is now upstairs and is not hd appeared OK. A year ago I had a new Samsung HD set but as U sand the reception is not too good. the tother old set upstairs with no booster gives a good picture.

I have NO Freeview service at all from my Sony DVD Recorder. This problem has only occurred tonight. Is this problem related to the engineering works at the Sutton Coldfield transmitter? My postcode is B73 6SA
When will this problem be resolved?

My Sony RDRHXD970 has experienced exactly the same thing. go to epg and it is blank and not looking quite right, it starts populating, but if you select a channel it either is a black screen or comes on for a second or two and snaps off.

Peter J: I have a 2 sony hdd recorders HXD890 & HXD870 both connected to Sutton Coldfield. This morning on switch on they both stayed on UPDATE on the display even though software update is set to OFF. They are both now trashed completely. No epg no freeview picture. Channels are still present. I also notice that the on screen graphics for some functions have changed as if for another model. & a complete factory default reset had no effect. Looks like some ota disaster has taken place. Any suggestions gratefully received!
