E.D. Gooderham:

It is due to the high pressure across the country currently. It is affecting large areas of the UK. Do not retune and just be patient until the weather p[attern changes. There is no known cure for this natural phenomenon.

We live in IP19 area, having total problem, no reception at all for 2 days.
You say it's the weather but is there any e mail address I can complain to?
Me thinks it's more than the weather!

John Clark:

It IS the weather so please be patient. You are not the only person affected as the high pressure is affecting much of the UK and causing reception problems for many people. There is no known fault at the Tacolmston transmitter.

Strange problem this?
I can't get any signal for BBC1 or ITV1 via the aerial on main TV.
All other channels are OK & no problems on other TV in kitchen.
But:-
If I turn on Humax box I do get BBC1 & ITV1
Should I just retune TV?

John Clark: First check that your TV is tuned to the correct UHF channels (C40 for BBC1 & C43 for ITV). You should not attempt to retune if the TV is already tuned to the correct frequency as this will just delete all of your tuning data before searching for the channels again, which will make the problem worse if those channels are not being received. Are the Humax box and kitchen TV connected to the same aerial as the main TV?

john Clark . Normallly in the Ipswich area reception is good from the Sudbury transmitter . You maybe in an awkward spot where you get better signals from Tacolneston . So you could be getting signals from Sudbury , Tacolneston and a local relay! its possible that different tvs in your house are tuned to different transmitters! We really need a full postcode to help further .
Note that bad reception areas are susceptible to interference from local transmitters and high pressure effects.

Thanks, my full Post Code is IP19 9BN.
I have I think always been latched onto the Tacolneston transmitter.
As I stated it is only the BBC1 & ITV1 channels that we can't get, & this has only just occured last night.
All other channels have good signal
We can also get BBC1 & ITV 1 when signal is through Humax box

John Clark:

Looking at the Digital UK Coverage Checker for your location, see Coverage Checker - Detailed View it appears that reception of any transmitter is likely to be variable at best or sometime poor.

Please check ths aerial cables and connections (a poor connection can affect just one channel!) and then check the signal strengths for all the multiplexes and what channel they are on. The channels for each possible transmitter are shown on the page mentioned above. Ideally you would like to have a strength of between 60% and 85% on all multiplexes.
