Chris Onion: Got the same problem Chris. I live in LE67 8HN and have majority of channels except sky sports 1 & 2. I have also rang BT Vision who insist that it is the fault of the Waltham Transmitter.
Do we assume that they are still working on the output transmission of that carrier frequency and it will get sorted soon.Hope so I was going to watch the England game tomorrow night. Keep me in the loop if you get a breakthrough!

Paul have you read my post about too much signal ?
copy and paste it for you
Sounds like you may have now got to much signal hitting your equipment
Have you got an amplifier connected on the system - possibly you don't need it now - but before you go ripping it out is it a set back one or one that distributes to several sets
If its a set back one (do not remove a box that states POWER SUPPLY that may (or may not) sit behind your tv as you will lose everything) then try bypassing it and connecting the aerial direct to your tv
if its an amplifier in the loft or outdoors then thats going to be tougher to do
if you cant get to your amp try using whats called an ATTENUATOR these reduce the signal strength - ideally placing one before your amplifier is the best route but if you cant then plug it direct into the back of the tv theyre about £6 from maplin electronics - try a 12db attenuator - possibly an 18db? (buy both ask if you can return the unused one)
If you have no amplifier - still try the attenuator as the signal has increased phenomenally place the attenuator on the first piece of equipment it connects too ie if you have a pvr the aerial usually goes in there and is looped round to your tv

Thanks for your comments, kB Aerials. I have 2 TVs fed from an unamplified splitter. I have tried a back of set booster and get marginally better service, but still not as good as before DSO.I have the feeling that I am losing signal at the splitter, so will replace/ resolder the coax plugs as necessary. I will also relocate the booster in the loft (ie. to where the aerial lead comes into the house). Thanks again.

Does anyone know how many English HD versions of ITV1 there are? Possibly two ?
I'm asking this just out of curiosity because Belmont transmits Granada HD and Waltham is transmitting
London HD.
The Freeview transmission details at the top of this page show Waltham to be carrying Central West HD (which probably doesn't exist!).

A decent aerial and a decent 2 way splitter is more than likely all is needed - id be surprised if any amplification is needed unless your utterly surrounded by a forest in a deep depression - amplifiers are a thing of the past - apart from larger distribution systems but aerial to 2 points is really really unlikely to need any amplification with the strength of the currant switch over
just looked at google streetview of your road - there are no excessive sized aerials installed which leads me to think your in an reasonable reception area before switchover - now signal is more than likely booming in - although I don't know the area at all so I could be wrong - if the aerials were on 20" masts then id be more concerned

Paul @ DE1 1PY here - Apparently the problem is because they have transferred the Sky Sports signal (and loads of radio stations) to something called ArqB even though they know half the region can't get a good quality signal on this - hardly the act of intelligent people!!! Why not stick gems TV and QVC and rubbish channels on this?
UK Digital seem to think my aerial is Sutton Coldfield (aerials in my area point in two directions. Mine is towards the A38 whilst some of the other are 90 degrees eastwards which muct be Waltham).
Anyway UK Digital reckon the Waltham digital signal is stronger than the Sutton Coldfield analogue signal and that is why I am getting Waltham. Apparently when Sutton Coldfield switches this should be sorted.
They are basically saying it doesn;t matter which direction you point your aerial in it just picks up the strongest signal if you can pick up more than one transmitter.
Apparently there is a Derby relay for Waltham which gets in the way of the Sutton Coldfield signal - is this like the Bolehill issue? In which case why put them on a frequency that people can't get?
Naffed off as I am now paying BT for something I don;t get.
BT blame the transmitters, UK digital blame the transmitters but you can't speak to anyone who is controlling this and get it sorted out.
Seriously nothing wrong before the switch so why did they bother - to rip the public off again as usual!
Is this true? Or is it more BS.

Hi I have a Hitatchi 46xf355d and have been patiently waiting for HD on Waltham. My set says there is nothing on channel 58. my set or Waltham at fault?
