I recenty had installed a Panasonic TV which has a Freeview HD tuner. Autotuning is satisfactory & gives strength 10 for Winter Hill channels. The Tv is capable of producing a 1080p picture but the info on screen tells me that it is producing a 1080i picture.
Is there a Winter Hill transmission reason or my aerial type reason why this should be ?
Panasonic tech support could not give me a satisfactory explanation.
Hope you can explain.
I am using a horizontal, single reflector aerial mounted on a chimney stack which has given satisfactory performance since installed many years ago.
My postcode is WA4 6NB.

C W Bainbridge: The differences you refer to are not connected in any way with your aerial system, but though if you open the undermentioned link you can read some info explaining the reason for the two different indications.
What Is the Difference Between 1080p and 1080i?

Most transmissions are 1080i/50 some are 1080p/25, your TV is simply telling you what you are getting. Some programmes, such as Top Gear, contain both formats.
