Great to see COM7 on the air. But what about COM8? Is it really due this month as shown above? What programming will it carry?
Also, why don't the BBC HD channels carry a text service?

Can someone give me a little help twice at two separate locations with very good reception for winter hill I am getting psb3 on channel 31 not com7 what transmitter am I receiving ?
link to this comment |
mazbar: See the page for Sutton Coldfield. Viewers using that transmitter are reporting the same issue or something else odd with COM7.
COM7 services from Emley Moor are OK for me.

Dave Lindsay: are there any other transmitters transmitting on ch 31 with psb3
link to this comment |
mazbar: No. Channels 31 to 37 (excluding 36) are used exclusively by COM7 (and in future COM8 will be incorporated as well). This gap was cleared as part of switchover.
Therefore PSB3 "shouldn't" be on C31.
If you click "C31" it will show a map of all transmitters which broadcast on this channel. However, quite a few aren't on air yet (according to Digital UK Coverage Checker). These include Sheffield, Bilsdale and Waltham, all of which aren't on air. So the only place C31 could possibly be being received from in North West England is Winter Hill.

mazbar: What was the make of the boxes? I noticed on digital spy's forums some people had noticed this issue with older Vestel boxes.

I have 2Tvs connected to a loft aerial. I have a problem with 1 ground floor tv in receiving freeview as it always says weak signal and loses channels everyday. My other tv on the same aerial has excellent picture and signal quality. I have gone over the cabling 1 million times.
My 2nd problem is that I live in Basildon and the nearest transmitter is Sudbury in the east but I am only able to receive BBC south east presumably via Crystal palace transmitter which is miles away.
