We have no tv signal tonight. We have a BT Vision box connected to our main TV. This says no signal. The kitchen TV says no signal. We have an Ariel in our loft. TV was ok this am at 7. Any ideas?
Postcode BL8 2EL (Bury area). BTW Internet is working ok.

AlJazeera (Arabic) Freeview84 UHF31 (posted 3 Feb 2014)
My (quite) new Panasonic with HD tuner has added AlJazeera on 84 to my list. It gets all the HD channels at UHF31. However, my few-years-old Sony with SD-only tuner does not acknowledge that 84 exists, despite automatic and manual scans (at UHF31).
I'm not actually bothered about a news channel in Arabic; but I am concerned that future SD offerings in English on UHF31 will not appear on my Sony.
Any ideas?

H J Hill: Of course UHF channel 31 will not appear on your SD-only Sony machine because it does not contain a DVB-T2 tuner!
In the UK, standard definition broadcasts use a DVB-T signal mode. High definition ones use the later DVB-T2.
COM7 uses DVB-T2 and is available quasi-nationally. Evidently it won't be exclusively for HD services, but will, of course, require a HD receiver to view.

My aerial signal became very weak on last Wednesday but returned to normal yesterday evening. Is the weather responsible?

OK, this is probably a dumb question but I get no signal at all on C31, C37 & C57. New aerial time? Would a signal booster be likely to do any good?
link to this comment |
Chris Harris: Without knowledge of your location it is impossible to answer the question as to how likely you might be to pick up these channels, this being because they are on lower power than the main Freeview channels.
C37 is not on air yet. C31 uses DVB-T2 mode so if there is an option on the manual tuning screen for DVB-T or DVB-T2 then it must be set to the latter.
On the manual tuning screen, entering/selecting the desired UHF channel number and waiting (not pressing the button to scan/add services) should allow the device to be used as a signal meter, thereby giving you an idea of whether there is a signal there but which is not good enough.
