Having retuned my TV, as recommended, on 28th September, I was bitterly disappointed to find that I had lost BBC Points West, with which I identify, to find it was replaced by Midlands Today, which is alien to this area. As my daughter and her family live 150metres from us and have the same post code, have retained BBC Points West, we realized that receiving Midlands Today was not the 'norm' in our area. I have explored numerous avenues to try to return to BBC Points West, with absolutely no success.
PLEASE HELP.

Roy Brassington: What aerials do you have and where do they point (which transmitters/directions)? Do you have two aerials?
Your post code will be helpful as the Digital UK predictor might help with what transmitters you can get.
Did you get ITV West as well, rather than Central? Or do you get ITV West now, but BBC West Midlands?

Ray - It is possible that BBC West has been stored in the 800s in your tuner. Alternatively you might have to do a manual scan to get it.
What can happen is that as the dreaded midlands channels are lower down the frequency range, they are stored first as your BBC and ITV region, so blocking out the west channels which come later in the frequency spectrum.

Roy: One way to overcome the problem is to do a factory reset then manual tune to just the channels used by Mendip instead of full scan. That way you prevent receiving Ridge Hill channels.
It is possible to receive Mendip in Cheltenham although it is outside the service area because of the Cotswould hills. However as you move west towards Gloucester the hills cause less of a problem and some villages to the west of Gloucester are in the main sevice area.

Where I used to live in Abbeydale, Gloucester we had good reception from Mendip. Generally in Gloucester, you can get Mendip as long as you are west of the shadow cast by Robinswood Hill (or as in the case of most of Abbeydale, in the gap between the hill and the Cotswold escarpment). I reckon that means that something like 60%-70% of the city can get Mendip through a suitable aerial - those parts that miss out are much of Hucclecote, Brockworth, Barnwood, and parts of Longlevens.

I think there are some typo's on the Ridge Hill England MUXs? From looking at other stuff on the net only CH29 is being used for English MUX2? Your page is showing 3 entries with two of them incomplete. I presume they are meant to be deleted?
Cheers.

Frank Watkins: This page is for ITV West (PSB2) from Ridge Hill, which is in addition to the main PSB2 which carries ITV Central South.
