I live at the Eastbourne end of Seaford and receive digital services via BT with an external antenna. When the last 'twiddle' took place we lost several freeview cartoon channels, which the children liked, and BBC Look South, we can only get BBC SouthEast...fine if we need to hear about Dorset, Portsmouth and the IOW...we don't! Any reason why this disappeared, and can we /will we ever get it back?

From the above, unless I am mistaken, it seems that on switchover Newhaven will only have a limited range of programmes. In fact many less than I have been able to receive from whitehawk hill digital for the last few years. Is this so, and if so why?

Michael Murphy: See Will there ever be more services on the Freeview Light transmitters? | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .
If you can get a service from Whitehawk Hill now, it's pretty likely that you will continue to be able to after switchover. It should even be more reliable. Whitehawk Hill will get, relatively speaking, an increase in coverage over analogue - at most other main sites, digital power levels will be one-fifth of analogue to provide equivalent coverage, Whitehawk Hill's power level will be TWO-fifths.
There are occasionally some spots where a relay has been allocated the same channels as a main transmitter's commercial multiplexes. Bexhill and Rye will clash with some of Whitehawk Hill's commercial muxes, although Bexhill will be horizontally-polarized where Whitehawk is vertical.

Michael Murphy: Yes, you are quite correct, as the service is classed as a Freeview "light" one, and as such will only transmit public service broadcasts, this because of the commercial interests not being willing to pay for the cost of running extra multiplexes.
This is not that uncommon in lesser coverage area's, and is a source of complaint from many people.

I have line of sight to Newhaven aerial, single group aerial in loft, but will fit allgroup aerial in May.
I have a 4 - way booster amplifier. Will this work for digital?
I have a Trinitron bedroom TV with no Scart or HDMI. Can you adapt this for digital?
