Channel 4 now has a HD service which can be watched by Sky HD subscribers.

The channel (on transponder 5, 11.789Mhz, Horizontal, 29.5 3/4) can be found on Sky channel number 140.

It carries the same programmes as normal C4 but in High Definition, when available. Programmes not filmed in HD are shown at normal resolution, but with the benefit of proper 720x576 resolution and MPEG4 encoding.

It is expected the channel will be on Freesat next Spring.
