Hi Cannot receive BBC 4(TV). I know this question has been asked before, but I cannot yet find an answer. I live in france and receive UK channels via satellite. I have one dish and there is a split for 2 receiver boxes. Both are set to scan identically on Astra 2D 28.2 east. Both worked perfectly until last October. One finds all BBC and ITV channels including BBC4. After October, the second receiver finds a different set of channels but NOT BBC4 (or CBeebies). When I rescanned, the only BBC it now finds is NEWS, ALBA, and PARLIAMENT. Scan data: Xpdr 10744-22000; LNB1 Lo9750 Hi10600; Search type AUTO; Scan type ALL. Can you please help me to retrieve the BBC channels including especially BBC 4. Many thanks

Hi,

When we moved into our house 4 1/2 years ago there was already a sattelite dish installed which we thought might be Sky's.

I recently bought a Humax Foxsat receiver and tried to connect this sattelite to the receiver but no channels were found. I even tried placing the dish on a clothes line and use a sattelite finder but stilll no luck.

Could there be something wrong with the dish? Many thanks.

Carlos: As I posted the first time you asked, I would suspect that the dish is not aligned correctly, or that the LNB package has failed.

Nigel - not all Freeview channels are on Freesat. You need to look at www.freeview.co.uk and www.freesat.co.uk and compare the channel lists.

Hi, as per advice here, I put my Panasonic DMR BS 750 into Shipping mode and restarted. I now have my BBC HD channels back, so this worked for me. Thanks for the tips.

Hello all,
I need a bit of techno explained to me please, I have just bought a Samsung TV for my Caravan and the reception with the Caravan Aerial is bad so I have bought an 80cm dish to go with it, on the site I bought the dish from there was an offer of a box to upgrade to HD, do I need any sort of set top box to use this dish or do I just plug it straight in the back of the TV and tune it in.
Thank you,
Michael Redmond

Michael Redmond :
TV with satellite tuners built in are quite rear and expensive.
I doubt that your portable TV has a satellite tuner built in to it.
So you will need a satellite receiver box.
As you are using this in a caravan, get one that works off a 12v battery as well as the mains.
Plug the LNB (Dish) cable into your satellite tuner and a SCART cable from the satellite tuner to your TV.
Most satellite tuner have a menu option to read the signal strength. Very useful when pointing the dish towards the satellite.
You must be more accurate pointing a dish towards the satellite than pointing a aerial at a transmitter.
To receive from 28.2E Astra 2 (The UK channels)
Astra 2 is 28.2° east. So the angle will be 20° (in Scotland) to 30° (in the south)
