...ah I see. My follow up post and the posts that other people who lept to my defence regarding SFNs must have been sucked up by the SPAM system?

Anyway... I managed a DAB multiplex network for four years, so I DO know a bit about how DAB SFNs work!

I can tell you that when a new TX is turned on, the others in the SFN are not adjusted. As long as the DAB transmitters are all sync'd by GPS, then it is just a case of turning a new site on and leaving the rest alone.

On rare occasions it may be the case that a particular location in a TX area may receive a signal from a local site, and another over 74km away - in this case the GPS timings would be tweaked rather than radiating patterns.

Otherwise, a DAB receiver is perfectly capable of receiving the same multiplex from more than one transmitter.

The coverage maps need a little work still...
