Local TV licensed for Bristol, Cardiff and Norwich
Made Television have won the right to run the local television service for Bristol and Cardiff, and Archant have won the right to run the service for Norwich.
The local services in England will appear on Freeview channel 8, and the Cardiff service will be on Freeview channel 45.

Jay: Some of the services should be on air next year, if you look at the schedules proposed by the multiplex companies.
I think the "phase 2" sites are 2015.

Ashley: All transmitters broadcast HD after switchover. So if you have an aerial insalled that allows reception of standard definition pictures then it will be expected to provide HD ones as well, subject to use of a suitable tuner.
The most common misunderstanding is that of the term HD Ready. It means that a set can show HD pictures but does not have the means to receive them off the air.
