Firstly, you would need special planning permission to have a second dish on your home:

Secondly, there is no simple way of connecting two dishes to the Sky Digibox (there is no "dish switch" output).

Thirdly, the Sky Digibox cannot receive programmes that are broadcast as "PAL", only those as "DVB-S", so it could (via the "other channels" options) conceivable decode some free-to-air channels, such as MTV Germany and some ARD and ZDF channels. See here for a list:

I would suspect that if you are really keen to have these channels the best way would be to contact a local installer who could provide a dish that could get signals from both satellites, and a separate decoder.

Hi,

I have a Sky setup at home with 3 HD boxes and 3 non HD boxes.

Following the publication of Advocate General Kokott's opinion that terratorial exclusivity agreements relating to the transmittion of football matches are contrary to European Law, I would like to have a Second (or a replacement dual dish) installed to pick up a european (german?) satellite system to watch the premier league matches that are broadcast in Europe.

Can you advise on what is required to do this? I don;t mind paying for an additional, 'european' subscription.

Thanks,

Matthew: Well, you buy and install another dish pointing at the appropriate satellite and make arrangements for the subscription with the non-UK broadcaster of your choice.

You could even get a motorised dish and suitable receive and you can watch from any number of satellites.

I'm planning to have a sat dish installed to watch FTA channels from the 28.2E group and I'd also like to be able to watch a 24hr FTA 3D channel called HighTV 3D. This is on Astra 3B at 23.5E but I understand it's possible to fit a 2nd LNB to a dish in order to do this. Can you confirm that the footprint for Astra 3B covers at least the south-east UK (I'm in London) and what size dish do you think I'd need? I've bought a Ross HDR-8130USB sat receiver which should cover me for both groups shouldn't it? Thanks for any info.
