Using a HUMAX satellite receiver to watch Italian TV, mainly RAI channels but they often have the message that the channels is scrambled, but all I read is that RAI is free to view?

I understand that the channels are scambelled or withdrawn from satellite because of copyright reasons.

Thanks for the reply, would you happen to know what method they us to scramble the signal? Because when I was in Italy I couldn't get a straight answer. They must be able to watch the channels in Italy so I asked and all they would say is that you need SKY! Which I am sure is not correct.

It is probably what is called 'soft scrambling' where a rights holder (in defiance of European Law) demands that a programme not be broadcast outside the territory, so a SkyItalia subscription card is required to watch, even if no subscription is payable.

Listing for RAI channels can be found RAI TV listings.

Canale 5 on 13°E (Hotbird) - see two posts above: 11.919GHz V, 27.500, some encrypted, some free-to-air.

Can anyone explain how can I get the TivuSat card for only 15 Euro? I've browsed in the web and the offers available are actually very expensive, around 100Euro.

Thanks

Ivan

Tivu card - Ivan, be wary. Formally, a bona-fide Italian codice fiscale is required. Careful research and personal recommendations are indicated. See other postings on this site.
Many programmes on RAI etc are still free-to-view at certain times of the day.

hello there

I have a Sky box (installed 2010) and I live in a block of flats so I have a communal arial. (I am a complete novice at this so please excuse my ignorance if I'm using the wrong terminology). Block built in 2007.

I would like to recieve the Real Madrid TV channel and other channels about news and sport in Spain, especially football.

Can someone help in advising me on what I have to do to get such channels please?

Thanks for your time

fizz: Sorry, but the communal aerial cannot provide you a signal for Real Madrid TV, or indeed any Spanish television.

thanks a lot for your answer. Is there anything I can buy myself like some sort of special satelite receiver box thingy? Is there anything I can attach to the wall outside(with landlords permission of course)?

thanks again

fizz: If you are able to mount your own dish, you will be able to point it to 19.2 degrees east where you will be able to receive some Spanish channels from - see Free TV from Spain - LyngSat .

Hi,
I was hoping you could help/advice me. I set up a dish and reciver for my mum and it has been working for years now. I changed the LMB a few years back and the reciver so that she was ready for digital. She mainly watches Italian TV but for the last few weeks the Italian tv and a lot of other channels have gone. Do I need to upgrade the hardware again or have the channels moved?

Thanking you in adavanced!

Kind regards,
Rob

Rob: It could be any number of problems, the most plausible would be the failure of the LNB. There is no particular reason to upgrade the hardware and the channels have not moved. If anything has moved, it could be the dish.
